Course Description & Objectives
Introduction: 
Course content: It is an India specific concise course on the real estate management, covering basic features like development, functioning, regulations, instruments, financing and decision. By design, it falls in the intersection of real estate markets, and basic Macroeconomics and Finance.

Objectives: 
Due to its deep rooted links with society, markets, locations, etc., real estate occupies a unique position in the asset classes of people. Given the primary role played by real estate markets in the recent financial crisis, the need for understanding the dynamics of it for both end users and investors has increased significantly. It is also one of the fastest growing sectors in the Indian economy and India's economic growth is driving the demand for real estate. In this context, objective of this course is to provide an introduction and foundational knowledge of both residential and commercial real estate markets in India and present an analytical framework that covers different aspects of decision making such as financing, taxation, accounting, appraisal and development of real estate.

Pedagogy
It is primarily a lecture based course. However, a few cases are included for classroom discussion. There will be 1-2 sessions taken by the Visiting Faculty.
