The course then discusses various development models, economic systems and development achievements. The latter includes how world incomes, poverty, and inequality have evolved historically and during recent decades. We next consider the contributions of human capital and factor accumulation to economic growth. The role of the financial sector in promoting development and as a source of risk is examined next. The focus then shifts to the benefits and costs of globalization, international trade, and international migration.
