Course Description & Objectives
Introduction and Objectives:

Over the last decade, private equity markets have grown rapidly in terms of the size of unlisted companies and the duration for which they remain private. They have begun to rival public markets in terms of the ease with which risk capital can be raised. For investors, unlisted equities have become an important asset class with increasing allocation from pension funds and other institutional investors. Patient capital aspires to earn high returns by giving up the liquidity provided by public markets. This course aims to provide an understanding of these markets.

Pedagogy
This course is entirely case based. The course includes a group project in which the group would be required to evaluate a venture capital or a private equity deal to analyse its outcomes and establish linkages with the deal structure.
