Course Description & Objectives
Objectives:

Successful management of projects is an extremely important capability for managers and entrepreneurs today. The objective of this course is to impart critical concepts, knowledge, tools and skills that are crucial for successful planning, decision-making and management of projects particularly in the agri-food and agri-business sectors. This includes understanding the nature of projects, knowing the industry environment & opportunities, enhancing imagination & creativity, gathering critical information, analysing technical, financial & social cost-benefit feasibility, identifying risks, sourcing finance, planning & implementation of projects, and managing operations & strategy for business success. The focus will be on the special nature and setting of agri-food business projects/ enterprises. The course would be useful for those involved in identifying or implementing new organizational projects, as well as others such as entrepreneurs, bankers, consultants, and those in top or strategic management positions.  

Pedagogy
The course will be taught through a variety of methods including cases, articles, lectures, books, notes, and projects. Work on the project assignments will be extremely important and will contribute substantially to the comprehensive learning. The class participation grade will be based on the extent and quality of participation as well as the attendance.
