Course Description & Objectives
Overview:
Mathematical rigour has become an integral part of economics literature, and this course serves as an introduction to such rigorous thinking. The course aims to provide in-depth treatment to various mathematical concepts used in subsequent advanced coursework in economics: microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, game theory, etc. Most of the concepts are familiar to anyone with an undergraduate degree in engineering or mathematics, but here we tend to get into the theoretical foundations. This is a 30 session 1.5 credit course.
