Course Description & Objectives
Objectives and Overview:
The course is organized to offer basic understanding of the various types of social systems, agrarian structures and other rural institutions that matter in the context of food and agribusiness operations in India. At the end of the course, participants will be able to appreciate the important features of a rural environment and be prepared for their rural immersion module (RIM).

Pedagogy
The course will combine methods such as lectures, guest lectures, case discussions and multi-media, wherever needed. The core emphasis will be on learning through in-class discussions of concepts and their relation to real world rural environment.
