Course Description & Objectives
Objectives:
Data management systems have evolved in the last 50 years from a pure flat file-based system to relational, object-oriented, object relational and data warehouses. The relational database, however, is one of the predominant data and information management infrastructures in organizations today. This course aims to introduce the participants to the fundamentals of relational databases. The participants will learn the essentials of database modeling and design, query languages, and physical implementation methods. It will also help the participants understand the issues, challenges and best practices in managing data and information in organizations.
