Course Description & Objectives

Objectives: The course builds the theory of probability confining the discussion to the discrete sample space avoiding the measure theoretic approach. Besides getting a reasonably good understanding of the important concepts related to probability theory, the students are exposed to the mathematical rigour of proving theorems. Also it helps them to learn how to formulate a mathematical problem and solve it.
