Course Description & Objectives
Objectives:
1. To expose the participants to participant-centred learning methods through the example of the Case Method in management education.
2. To introduce the participants to a few other pedagogical approaches relevant to a teacher in management education.
Pedagogy
Instructor-led presentations and discussions.
One student-run demonstration class.
In some sessions (marked with a $ sign), volunteers are expected to illustrate the assigned topics. That is, you will have to volunteer (in teams) to act as anchors for these sessions. The anchoring performance will be graded, and all participants have to undertake at least one such exercise. The size of the team will depend on the batch size. An anchor team can take 30 minutes. All the anchored sessions will be video-recorded and reviewed as soon as the anchor team completes its job. Please note that the focus is not on the content of the topic, but on the application of the topic. For instance, if the topic is ‘leading small group discussions’, the focus is not on the definition of or norms governing leading small group discussions; rather, the anchor team has to teach some content which calls for small group discussions.
