Course Description & Objectives
Introduction:
This seminar course focuses on research in emerging economy context in the domain of corporate nance. This course shall provide an overview of research in corporate nance issues in emerging economies. In the last few decades, we have witnessed developments in corporate nance and professionalization of corporate nance in emerging economies. The unique context of emerging economies provides fertile grounds for conducting scientic inquiry. This course attempts to aid students in their pursuit of research in the domain of corporate nance in the emerging economies by discussing issues that are germane to unique conditions that prevail in these economies. Institutional voids, developing structures, evolving regulatory framework, and corporate governance challenges indicate situations that warrant exploration and investigation on issues in the domain of corporate nance that have already been examined to a certain extent in the developed economies.
