Course Description & Objectives
Description: 
The course has been designed to understand the current debates relating to Indian workplaces. Broadly, the issues covered deal with the formal-informal employment, Indian work culture, diversity in the workplace, global production networks, pluralism at work, Indian diaspora and teleworking. To this end, the readings draw from various disciplines such as economics, sociology, geography, history and management.

Objectives:
1. To understand the Indian workplaces and its complexity in terms of segmentation, culture, legal issues and information technology.
2. To build capabilities in students to handle the complexity arising from the multifaceted work context.
